Council of Trent. Canones et decreta sacrosancti oecumenici, et generarlis Concilii Tridentini sub Paulo III, Iulio III, Pio IIII, Pontificibus Max. Index dogmatum, & reformationis. Rome: Paolo Manuzio, 1564
The two leaves between quires V and X contain the Bulla confirmationis of Pius IV. This is perhaps the third folio edition, as described by Renouard in the final paragraph of p.192, post-dating UCLA 723.
Folio (304 x 204 mm.), Roman type, 39 lines plus headline. collation: A-V6 *2 X6: 128 leaves, foliated in arabic numerals. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page, woodcut initials. (Title-page somewhat worn and repaired, small hole in C5 with loss of a few letters, occasional light staining or soiling, a few leaves lightly browned, a few small holes in last few leaves.)
binding: Contemporary Roman chestnut morocco gilt (310 x 210 mm), arms of a bishop from the Bichi family on covers, spine gilt in compartments, gilt edges, stubs from two pairs of silk ties. (Binding slightly rubbed with some repairs to edges and ends of spine.)
provenance: A bishop from the Bichi family of Siena, arms on binding — Giuseppe Ceccarini, archpriest, of Farnese (Lazio), inscriptions on title-page — embossed stamps on inside front cover, an ecclesiastical stamp from Todi. acquisition: Purchased from Mayfair Rare Books, London, 2017. references: Edit16 75067; probably UCLA 726 (third folio edition, not in collection) and cf. UCLA 723 (second folio edition, but with foliation in Roman numerals, and without quire *2)
