New-York: Printed by James Rivington 1774. 2 vols., 12mo, contemporary sheep, spines ruled in gilt across either side of the raised bands, fragments of red morocco gilt labels, head of spine of vol. 1 chipped, some other leather abrasions, text browned throughout, small tears to C1 and 2 in vol. 1, F1 with corner printed on a loose flap, lower corner and catchword of R4 lost, vol. 2 with small tear to T2, volding cloth box. First American Edition, 18 pages of subscribers followed by 6 pages of advertisements in vol. 1, engraved folding map "Protracted by B. Romans" and 2 folding engraved frontispieces, the first by Paul Revere BCJC 656; Sabin 30936; Streeter sale IV, 2407 ("The frontispiece by Paul Revere and the Romans map make this a distinguished book.--TWS"). A good copy. Provenance : Joseph Dart, early nineteenth-century bookplates. (2)
