Beschreibung:

.70 caliber, 42" barrel secured by three flat bands with springs, no S/N. Bright finish, European walnut stock. Unmarked externally with the exception of the assembly number 8 throughout, and a small inspection mark at the breech that appears to be a deeply struck SP. Lock remains in original flint configuration with matching assembly marks on both external and internal parts, barrel in original flint as well. No traditionally recognizable proofs are present on top or under the barrel. The musket appears to be Germanic copy of a French pattern musket, based upon the French M1822 from the second quarter of the 19th century. Retains the socket bayonet stud on top of barrel, 1.125" from the muzzle, the full-length button head ramrod with threads at end and both sling swivels. Condition: Very good. Metal cleaned to bright, some of the assembly numbers weak from cleaning. Some very minor arms of light pinpricking are present, as well as some lightly scattered surface oxidation. Mechanically functional, moderately oxidized bore with light even pitting. Stock lightly cleaned with crisp edges and lines, showing some scattered bumps, dings and minor mars. There is some minor slivering around the triggergaurd tang that appears to be from poor fitting and a small chip out behind the breech plug tang.
