Three-band walnut stock with brass furniture and iron barrel bands. The flat opposite the lock has an S. Isaac, Campbell & Co. Type 1 block letter "I.C" viewer's stamp used exclusively on Confederate weapons. There is also a "CH / 1" in a circle mark on the comb used by S. Isaac, Campbell's viewers Curtis and Hughes at the Barnett factory. These marks give this rifle an unquestionable Confederate provenance. The right side of the buttstock has hand carved soldier's initials "S.H.M." Complete with ramrod. Condition: Good. Bore dark with worn rifling, barrel and lock finish an even plum, moderate pitting on the breech and lockplate. Stock dark with normal dents and dings; markings are clear.
