Hamid Ali Khan organised an extensive building programme carried out by British Chief Engineer W.C. Wright, who synthesised elements from Islamic, Hindu and Victorian Gothic design and architecture to contribute toward the movement known as Indo-Saracenic. Wright built the Khas Bagh or Hamid Munzil on the foundations of the old fort within the fort palace complex.
