Boyd, to Each Plate Author: Flaxman, John Place: London Publisher: Longman, Hurst, Rees & Orme Date: 1807 Description: Engraved by Thomas Piroli, from the Drawings in the Possession of Thomas Hope Esqr. 1793. With two engraved title-pages and 110 line-engraved plates. (oblong 4to) 9¼x13, period quarter calf & marbled boards, leather cover label. Striking interpretation of Dante's allegorical epic. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine and extremities rubbed and worn, front cover detached; fairly light foxing to contents, some marginal dampstaining, marginal repair to one leaf, else very good, worthy of repair.
