.45-70 GOVT. 32.5" barrel length. SN: 163782. Blued metal finish with case hardened finish to breechblock and receiver. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip and forearm with double barrel bands. Breechloading rifle with Buffington rear sights and hooded blade front sight. Item features a ramrod bayonet, low arched breechblock, one piece triggerguard, three click tumbler, and triple sling swivels. Markings include U.S./MODEL/1884 to breechblock, U.S./SPRINGFIELD preceded by war eagle to lockplate, and V/P/{eagle head} proofs to barrel. Barrel is also marked with an additional P and an A, both to top of barrel in front of breech. Stock is marked with a boxed SWP/1891 Samuel W. Porter cartouche to left side. Condition: Good. Bore is bright and has some residue toward muzzle. Finish is good, with scratching and small clusters of oxidation scattered overall. Wood stock has some light scratches scattered overall.
