Beschreibung:

Balsaltic Shergotite NWA 4880 Sahara Desert Balsaltic (volcanic) Shergotites, such as the present specimen, are the rarest and freshest of all Martian meteorites. Samples of the planet Mars possess a highly specific chemical signature. Containing water-bearing minerals, they show evidence of having crystallized fairly recently in a planet-sized gravitational field, with levels of cosmic radiation consistent with those originating in the inner solar system. Meteorites from the planet Mars are so rare that only small fragments are available for sale. Displaying approximately 40 percent of its original dark brown fusion crust, produced from burning in the Earth’s atmosphere, this example represents a rare opportunity to acquire a complete, two-centimeter piece of the planet Mars. Offered with an identification card from the Hupe Collection Weighs .947 grams
