COLT, USA A PRESENTATION .41 (COLT) SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL '1889 / 95', serial no. 10468, for 1891, with 4 1/2in. nickel-plated barrel, the top signed 'COLT'S PT FA MFG CO, HARTFORD CT USA, PAT AUG 5 '84, NOV 6 '88 MAR 5 '95', swing-out nickel-plated long-fluted cylinder without locking notches, of 1889 pattern, solid nickel-plated frame, 'peacock' blued trigger and hammer, the latter with polished sides, smooth mother of pearl grips, the left hand engraved 'FROM H. SIEGEL TO J.S. CARTON, the whole retaining virtually all its original nickel-plate (some moth-nipping to leading edge of cylinder and left side of barrel) and blued finish where appropriate Other Notes: This revolver is unusual in that the serial number pre-dates the 1895 patent, and has not been returned to the factory for modification. The most likely explanation is that the frame had remained on hand and the whole revolver was assembled post 1895.
