Sibylline Leaves: A Collection of Poems.
London: Rest Fenner 1817. 8vo (224 x 140 mm). Engraved portrait of the author by Meyer, after a drawing by Leslie, affixed to front pastedown. 1½ pages of ms. verse at end. Rebacked original blue-grey boards with white label printed in black. Condition: minor foxing throughout, boards soiled and extremities rubbed. Provenance: Anne Renier and F.G. Renier (bookplate); neatly written corrections taken from errata leaf in same hand as the aforementioned verses. first edition, containing the first publication of the revised "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", and of the famous odes "Dejection" and "France". The collection was originally intended for publication with the Biographica Literaria, hence the frequent signatures for “Vol. II”. Haney 26; Wise 45; Healy 1733; Sterling 190; Tinker 697.
