CLANRICARDE, HUBERT GEORGE DE BURGH CANNING, MARQUIS MANUSCRIPT
His last Will and Testament, February 1916, apparently the original document, mostly in a secretarial hand, signed by Clanricarde and witnessed by a housekeeper and butler. One page, with cognate blank, leaving legacies to his niece and nephew Burga and Mark Weyland, and the bulk of the estate to his great nephew Harry Lascelles, eldest son of his nephew Henry Earl of Harewood; together a manuscript letter of instruction to his solicitor concerning his Will; and with an earlier cancelled will dated 1874. The earlier cancelled Will desires that 'at my death two competent physicians be called in to ascertain with the utmost care that I am really dead, and not merely in a swoon, trance or fainting fit'.
