Glasierte Keramik. China, Yuan (ca. 13./14. Jh.). Darstellung mit Blattranken sowie große Blüten der Päonie in voller Lebenskraft. Zwei große Blüten dieser Mudan sind auf der Wandung ausgeführt, die Blätter erheben sich fast bis zum Vasenhals. Bei diesem Cizhou-Typus ist aufgrund der Hell-dunkel-Gegensätze eine sehr gute, kontrastvolle Wirkung gegeben. Über der hellen, cremefarbenen Engobe ist der Dekor in hellbraun aufgemalt und mit Ritzzeichnung zusätzlich hervorgehoben. Der Fuß ist teilweise ohne Glasur. H: ca. 35 cm, Ø ca. 18 cm / Glazed ceramic. China, Yuan (c. 13th/14th century). Depiction with flower tendrils and large peony flowers in full vigor. The flowers goes almost up to the vase neck. This Cizhou type gives a very good, full-of-contrast effect due to the bright-dark contrasts. Over the bright, cream-colored slip is the decor over-painted in bright brown and additionaly emphasized with etched characters. The foot is partly without glazing. Height: c. 35 cm, Ø c. 18 cm
