Lot of 8, including 5 carved bone rings, two carved wood rings, and a wood kerchief slide. Kerchief slide features on one side a nicely carved pair of wreathed crossing cannons and the date 1861, and on the other side a nicely carved eagle carrying a shield and branches and the date 1865. Top and bottom of ring also feature decorative floral and sand dollar (?) motif. One wood ring is brown with the front face carved in the shape of a shield. The shield contains a nicely carved image of an anchor with a canon crossing its midsection. The second wood ring is black with a five-point star carved on its front face. The five bone rings range in size. Several of them feature red and blue color enhancements to the carved inscriptions. One of the larger rings contains the initials H.H.B., as well as clearly inscribed renditions of the American flag, a patriotic shield, and a manicle (pointing finger) over a star. Provenance: Property of N. Flayderman & Co. Condition: Kerchief slide has a collection number marked in black on interior. Overall is in good condition. Some wear on the rings, and fading to color enhancements on the bone rings.
