West Point, NY: 31 December 1839 - 31 October 1850. 272 pp, 4to (385 x 270 mm). Written within a partially printed ledger. Full tooled leather boards, spine with red morocco label reading "Muster Rolls of Band" and green morocco lettering label (facing opposite direction) reading "U.S. Military Academy," marbled endpapers. Condition: some browning, smudges; front hinge cracked and reinforced with archival tape, remnants of early tape repair to covers, covers soiled, worn at extremities, spine detached but present. west point muster roll of the antebellum period, including signatures of many who would command both sides of the civil war. Includes signatures of future Union Generals Irwin McDowell, Joseph Hooker, Richard Delafield, as well as extensive list of musicians, their pay, and remarks of their daily performance.
