Lot of 4 newspapers. Harper's Weekly: A Journal of Civilization. April 12, 1862, Vol. VI, No. 276, pp. 225 - 240. Front with portraits of Maj. Gen. Buell and Brig. Gen. Shields, plus the battery at Newbern, NC after taken by Gen. Burnside. Full-page illustrations include: Views at New Madrid and Fort Pleasant; The Burnside Expedition, Bombardment of Newbern, North Carolina. Double-page illustration of The Battle of Winchester. Plus a large map (approx. 3/4 page) of southern Kentucky, Tennessee and northern Mississippi and Georgia showing Federal and Rebel lines. There is an image of the Virginia/Merrimac (p.235 - approx. 1/3 pg), the Monitor- Internal and External (p. 236, full-page), and the Battle of Hampton Roads (p.237 - approx. 1/3 pg).
