(Some browning, some marginal worm holes, lacking +4, margins renewed on [+1-+2], H1,Y-2E4 Rhetorica in volume one, lacking 2B6, f2-4 and margins renewed on 2A-2B5 in volume two, some corners excised from same not affecting the text.) 18th-century English diced russia, borders of double gilt fillet with gilt corner ornaments of stylized leaves, scalloped fillets and fleur-de-lis, spines in seven compartments with six gilt-decorated raised bands, gilt-lettered morocco labels in one, gilt lettered in one, the others elaborately decorated in gilt with stylized flower, strawberry, stars, circle, dot and flower tools, board edges with flower in semi-circle roll, turn-ins with scroll and flower roll, marbled endpapers (scuffed at the extremities, joints splitting). A handsome copy. A re-issue of the volumes published separately 1578-1583 with new vignette title-pages dated 1583, with one or two exceptions: Volume one: engraved title-page dated 1582, Historia and Rhetorica I 1583; volume two: Rhetorica II 1583, with dedication leaf: "Serenissimo" dated 1584, De Officiis 1581; volume three: Orationum I, II, and III 1583; volume four: Epistolae Familiares 1583; volume five: Epistolae ad Atticum 1583; volume six: Philosophica I and II.
