Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser was a decorated senior Royal Navy officer that served in both World Wars. He was promoted to the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in 1948, the highest rank of the Royal Navy.
Winston Churchill references Alfred Tennyson in his inscription. The line originally appeared in The Christian Science Journal in March 1887.
