Beschreibung:

Chteau d'Yquem--Vintage 1959 Sauternes, 1er grand cru class. Chteau-bottled Lot 184 level top-shoulder. Lot 185 levels: one base of neck, four top and one upper-shoulder (signs of seepage). Lots 186 to 194 excellent colour. Levels base of neck or better. Lot 193 four labels stained and one damaged. Lot 194 one label detached and damaged Tasting note: Superb. Very high sugar content and extract. Sweet and immensely rich from first tasting in 1964 to the most recent. The last six notes very consistent. Fairly deep amber gold, very bright; beautiful bouquet variously described as heavenly creme brulee, vanilla, duck-egg custard!, creamy, honeyed, whiff of Cox's orange pippins and charred oak, with enormous depth and more to yield. Always sweet, full-bodied, powerful, masculine, touch of caramel and black treacle, luscious yet could do with even more time in bottle. M.B. 1 bottle per lot
