Beschreibung:

Chinese porcelain lidded jar, glazed with a scene of a green flying dragon chasing a flaming pearl over a yellow ground. Marked along the underside with apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue. It has been fitted with a metal collar and lid for use as a tea caddy. Height: 4 1/4 in x diameter: 3 3/4 in. Condition Request Condition Report The tea caddy is in generally good condition without visible chips or dents. There are dark dots throughout the piece, which is most likely to be a firing flaw. There are some areas that are oversprayed, most noticeably to clouds. There is a minute chip to the center of the flaming pearl. By the chip, there is a 1/4 inch long crack that is only visible through careful scrutiny and that is so minute that the camera could not catch it. There is wear and spotty discoloration to the metal top; on top of it, there is glue residue visible that causes unevenness to the surface. When inspected under UV light, there was no sign of restoration. Wear to the foot rim, consistent with its age and use. As expected, dust collected inside. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
