Chinese Famille Rose Glazed Molded Porcelain Boys Vase Qianlong Gold Seal Mark and of the Period The ovoid body rising to a tall neck and supported on a short foot, with five boys clambering over the vase, decorated at the shoulder with a ribbon tied sash enameled in tones of iron red with a flying bat and cloud motif, the body painted with bats flying about scrolling lotus on a turquoise blue ground, all between a squared scroll border at the foot and a cloud color band at the rim. Height 16 3/8 inches. By repute of the family: This vase was deaccessioned from the Depuy Collection located at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1958 The Regal Collection
Overall very nice color, painting and modeling. Minor wear to gilding and some small scratches. Boy in purple robe at neck: He has been broken off at feet and wrist and re-stuck Boy in green robe at neck: Restoration to top half of ruyi, hairline crack to shoulder and back, crack around wrist Small Boy in green robe dangling: head broken off and re-stuck Boy in blue robe at base: Item in hand chipped and left hand fingers with tiny chips. Restoration to body on front right side including repainting and re-gilding, area approximately 5 inches high by 4 inches wide. Hairline crack on body (left of boy in blue) approximately 4 inches. Hairline Crack from top rim down approximately 1 inch.
