CHINA] MORRISON, HEDDA HAMMER (1908-1991). Approximately twenty-three vintage gelatin silver prints on Agfa Brovira paper from the 1940s, images mostly 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (195 x 195 mm). Three with processing defects, otherwise generally in attractive condition, all unmounted, unsigned, nine with a chop-mark on the verso. The group includes the classic image of the Eastern wall of Pu tuo zong cheng miao and general view of Lion Valley and Qingchui Peak, described by Sven Hedin (the noted explorer and photographer) in 1935 as "a masterpiece of a photograph" (see Harvard-Yenching Library, note on album page by Hedin).
