China International Airmails Pre-World War 2 KLM 1937 (3 Feb.) airmail envelope to Amsterdam marked "By Imperial and Chinese Airways to Penang, from Penang by K.L.M. Air Service Bandong - Amsterdam" with $1.05 franking (one with corner missing) and with handstruck "via hongkong by i.a.l." struck in red, the reverse with Hong Kong and Paris c.d.s. Although intended for K.L.M. this letter was carried by Imperial Airways. Pays 25c. surface, 55c. air and 25c. air within China. Also 1938 (14 Feb.) envelope to England marked "Airmail via KLM" and a very faint handstamp "By K.L.M." in purple, bearing $1.05 franking (double rate) tied by Shanghai c.d.s.; vertical fold.
