Château Pétrus--Vintage 1970
8 bottles per lot
WINES FROM THE ESTATE OF PHILIP CLARK I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Clark before he passed away, but his collection, on offer here in its entirety, depicts a man who enjoyed his fine wine. Bordeaux and Burgundy are the highlights of this collection, with such rare old gems as 1966 Romanée-Conti (showing beautifully at this age) and several cases of 1982 Mouton. There are more esoteric items as well, such as some of Docteur Barolet's Châteauneuf, and a few German rieslings for good measure. The wine on offer before you was stored in a lovingly created custom home temperature and humidity controlled center built into this consignor's Upper East Side apartment. Many of these wines were bought on release at Sherry Lehmann, the consignor's daughter and son informed me, and haven't been moved since. Château Pétrus--Vintage 1970 Pomerol, cru exceptionnel Levels: two bottom neck, five top shoulder, one upper shoulder; lightly corroded capsules, lightly bin soiled labels 8 bottles per lot
