Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1982
1 dozen bottles per lot
CHÂTEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 1982 Property of an East Coast Gentleman The following three lots are sourced from an East Coast Collector who generously supplied a bottle for tasting. The wine was found to be very approachable and drinking well. The following three lots are offered in attractive condition, with the last two in original wooden cases, and offer an enviable chance to bid on one of the true post-war Bordeaux greats. "A lovely, mature bottle, not lacking intensity or grip. The '82 Mouton showed a garnet color commensurate with its age, and a complex nose with notes of dark plummy fruit character colored by elements of soy sauce and tar, licorice and gingerbread. On the palate the wine was elegantly proportioned and classical in structure - not astringent or hard, but no longer showing the first blush of youth. Concentration and length are admirable." Charles Curtis MW. Tasted April 2009, from this consignment. Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1982 Pauillac, 1er cru classé Lot 276 levels: five very top shoulder, four top shoulder, one upper shoulder; lightly bin soiled labels, one slightly torn label. Lot 277 levels: bottom neck or better; lightly bin soiled labels, one slightly torn label. Lot 278 levels: very top shoulder or better; lightly bin soiled labels, one slightly torn label. Lots 277 and 278 in original wooden cases 1 dozen bottles per lot
