Château Latour--Vintage 1959
12 bottles per lot
A VERY RARE ORIGINAL WOODEN CASE OF LATOUR 1959 FROM A LONDON CELLAR Château Latour--Vintage 1959 Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled Audinot & Buhan Bordeaux import front and back labels. One very slightly damaged capsule. Good appearance. Ten original tissues. Levels: six top, three just below top and three upper-shoulder. In 0riginal wooden case with damaged lid Tasting Note: A glorious mammoth wine. It just goes from strength to strength. Forty notes from July 1963. Initially a black purple colour, nose packed with fruit, full-bodied, its extract and sheer power seeming to absorb, partially to disguise its tannic intensity. More recently, showing no signs of flagging, its opacity merely prefacing its beautifully developed bouquet, excellent flavour and perfect balance - perfect enough to keep up the maturing process for another quarter century. Last noted at the Russian National Orchestra dinner at Hatchlands, Surrey, Dec 2000 ****(**)! M.B. 12 bottles per lot
