.70 caliber, 42" barrel. Flintlock with Charleville markings on the lockplate under the pan. Three barrel band wood stock. Iron furniture. SP marked on the sideplate. An odd star marking on the left side of the barrel at breech. This was the pattern the US copied to manufacture the Model 1795 musket. Provenance: Ex. Estate of Merle E. Campbell, Past President of the Kentucky Rifle Association Condition: Barrel has a nice deep chocolate brown with heavy dark pitting around the touch hole. Lockplate has a nice browned look. The pan, hammer, frizzen, and frizzen spring are replacements. The barrel appears to be original flint. Stock with nice, deep dark patina in all of the protected areas.
