Charles Robinson Sykes (1875-1950), British Two sculptures, a letter and a collection of drawings, comprising a cast plaster self portrait of the sculptor standing in a dressing gown, lightly finished in green, red and cream paint, 23.5cm high; a cast plaster sculpture of four 18th century women posing, one dressed in a dress with a voluminous skirt, the others in various states of undress, 33cm high; twelve pen and ink drawings of sculptures including the aforementioned sculpture of four ladies in this lot and Sykes' 'Spirit of Ecstasy car mascot for Rolls-Royce, some highlighted with sepia wash, various sizes; a letter from Sykes dates 27th June 1941 and illustrated with a drawing of his gardener; and an invitation to Sykes for the Fifth Summer Exhibition at the Royal Institute Galleries in 1940 with a drawing of a sculpture of satyrs on the reverse.
