Charles-Melchior Descourtis (1753-1820), after After Frédéric-Jean Schall (1752-1825) L'Histoire de Paul et Virginie (Nevill 121; Portalis & Beraldi I, 8) the complete set of six aquatints in colours, 1795-7, good impressions, on wove, published by the engraver, Paris, with margins, the sheets folded around the backboard at the platemark and glued at the edges (with associated minor tears and losses at the sheet edges), a 120 mm. horizontal repaired tear in the seascape extending from the right sheet edge into the image, humidity staining and occasional foxing mostly outside the subjects, the subjects generally in good condition, framed P. 412 x 483 mm. (6)
