Contemporary paisley-patterned cloth, yapp fore-edges, morocco-lettering piece to spine. Provenance : Alidor Delzant (1848-1905, binding) This luxuriously produced series, printed on heavy handmade paper, prints and in most cases reproduces, documents and autograph letters from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century, with exhaustive biographical and historical commentaries by (Marie-)Itienne Charavay, the most eminent French dealer and 'expert' in autographs, whose business continues to the present day.
