CHAGALL, Marc (1887-1985). The Jerusalem Windows. Text and Notes by Jean Leymarie, translated by Elaine Desautels . Monte Carlo: André Sauret, 1962. 4° (323 x 245mm). Plates and illustrations, some coloured, including 2 original coloured lithographs by Marc Chagall Original light grey cloth lettered in black, pictorial dust-jacket, blue cloth slipcase (jacket with long tear). FIRST EDITION. The 36 preparatory colour designs for the work were transferred to the stone by Charles Sorlier under the direction of Chagall. Both the designs and the 2 original lithographs by Chagall were printed by Mourlot Fréres. Together with Claire Goll's Diary of a Horse (New York: 1946) illustrated by Chagall. (2)
