Hand-coloured engraved stellar chart (contemporary colour), about 440x510 mm. Some minor repairs on verso, minor cracks in old colour, margins trimmed and reinforced on verso. From Cellarius, Harmonia Macrocosmica sea Atlas Coelestis. A celestial map with constellations according to Christian symbolism wich was based on the work of the early 17th century astronomer, Julius Schiller. He replaced the traditional pagan symbols with the twelve apostles. The constellation of Sagittarius is represented by Matthew, Aquarius by Judas Thaddeus, Pisces by Matthias, Aries by Peter, and Taurus by Andrew.
