Thomas, engraved and printed by Illman Brothers for Peterson's Magazine, housed under glass with floral patterned thermoplastic frame adhered to the glass. Frame identified [7-108] but not included in Berg. Accompanied by an "American Album," manufactured by L. Prang & Co. of Boston, MA, and patented April 5, 1864, 7 x 9.25 in. Album contains approximately 77 CDVs featuring beautifully illustrated portraits, some colored, mostly by J. P. Soule of Boston. Provenance:Paul K. Berg Collection of Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames Condition: Left corner of frame has been damaged, with one partial piece accompanying the frame and another missing altogether. Image soiled and appears to have water damage. Album with good amount of wear, especially along the spine, but with working metal clasps.
