Author: Wood, William Place: London Publisher: Printed by Richard Taylor Date: 1832 Description: [4], 208 pp. Illustrated with three hand-colored engraved plates. (8vo) 8¾x5½, period muslin with later cloth spine. William Wood (1774-1857) gave up his career in surgery to become a bookseller and publisher. This catalogue includes section on mammals, birds, fish, insects, reptiles, shell, plants, and geology with a great number of the important color plate books of the period. Armorial bookplate of Edward Milner Typed biography of Wood tipped to f.f.e. Lot Amendments Condition: Later cloth rebacking, some overall rubbing and staining to cloth, rear free endpaper adhered to inside cover, hinges cracked with some gatherings springing and one leaf nearly loose; some offsetting from plates to text (including title-page); still, very good.
