CASSIUS CLAY'S 1957 GOLDEN GLOVES TROPHY A significant 1957 Golden Gloves trophy awarded to Cassius Clay when he was fifteen for being the most aggressive boxer in his division. The trophy is a golden color with a black base. At the top, a female figure holds a wreath above her head. Engraved on the base in gold lettering, The Bob Colglazier Award 1957 Golden Gloves Most Aggressive Boxer Novice Division . Bob Colglazier was a car dealer in Louisville who was a supporter of the city's Golden Gloves Tournaments. Clay won this trophy, the earliest known award given to Clay, while boxing under the tutelage of local police officer Joe Martin. One of two known amateur trophies. Excellent condition.
