CASSIUS CLAY SIGNED BOXER'S LICENSE APPLICATION Cassius Clay's Application for Boxer's License in California. Clay completed the two-sided document by hand on April 16, 1962, allowing him to fight his first match as a professional in California against George Logan Clay stopped Logan in four rounds. The application features three Clay signatures, including his full name Cassius Marcellus Clay on the front. Clay has filled in all pertinent information about himself, including his last two fights and the results. Among the requested references, Clay lists Joe Louis, the promoter of this fight. A small black and white photograph of Clay in a suit and bow tie taken the day the application was filled out is attached to the document. This document is the earliest known Clay boxing application and, with the next lot, the only known memorabilia from the Logan fight since no poster, program or ticket is known to exist. Excellent condition with two punch holes at the top.
