Halle: Orphanotrophei, 1734-35. 2 parts in one volume. 4 o (214 x 165 mm). 6 engraved folding plates (some browning throughout.) Contemporary vellum, spine ink-lettered (covers slightly bowing). Provenance : Joseph M. Zarini of Prato (18th-century bookplate). FIRST EDITION of Cassebohm's contribution to the studies of the anatomy of the ear, especially of the embryonic ear. The sixth tract describes a malformed ear of a six-month fetus. Garrison-Morton 1547 and 469.1; Heirs of Hippocrates 848; Waller 1805; Wellcome II, p.309; Norman 409.
