Of the Dodgers' seven previous World Series setbacks, the last five had come at the hands of the Yanks. But 1955 was finally "next year" for the Brooklyn Dodgers as they claimed their first World Championship, leaving the Yankees in an unaccustomed position as World Series runners-up. This slightly toned OAL (Harridge) baseball features 29 signatures including; Bauer, Berra (MVP), Byrne, Carey, Cerv, J. Coleman, R. Coleman, Collins, Ford, Grim, Howard, Konstanty, Kucks, Larsen, Leja, Mantle, Martin, McDougald, Morgan, Noren, Richardson, Rizzuto, Robinson, Silvera, Skowron, Stengel, Sturdivant, Turley and Wiesler. This ball is in near mint condition with a light coating of shellac. Signatures rate 8/10. On the west panel is the added notation "N.Y. Yankees Year 1955" in Stengel’s hand. LOAs from PSA /DNA, JSA and the Stengel family.
