Beschreibung:

Casey Stengel's 1953-54 New York Yankees Managerial Contract After four consecutive World Series triumphs under Stengel's helm, the Yankees brass knew a good thing when they had it. According to this two-year contract, they signed their prized skipper for the sum of $75,000 per season for 1953 and 1954. The team was rewarded with Stengel's leading the charge to a fifth straight world championship in 1953 and a 100 plus win season in 1954. The Yanks would have made a sixth consecutive World Series were it not for the Cleveland Indians who won at the time an AL record 111 games. The contract features what amount to two full name "Charles Dillon Stengel" signatures (both 9/10), as Stengel has identified himself as a party to the agreement on the front. He also added his address twice in his own hand. Yankees Vice President George Weiss has signed the contract as well. Excellent to near mint condition with typical folds. LOAs from PSA/DNA, JSA and the Stengel family.
