Plates, facsimiles, illustrations, head- and tail-pieces. Contemporary half red calf over patterned paper boards, gilt morocco lettering-pieces, original printed wrappers bound in, top edges gilt (some light, partial fading on boards, a few minor scuff-marks). 'THE EDITION, PAR EXCELLENCE , OF THE MEMOIRS , with very extensive notes contributed by nearly all the great European Casanovists, with the variants noted between the text of Laforgue, the one used for this edition, and those of Schütz and Paulin [...] the edition will long remain an invaluable one for scholars' (Childs).
