Representing the joy and energy of the era they also demonstrated a fascination with exotic decorative motifs. During this period it was customary for Cartier to make several items which were closely similar but not absolutely identical. The current lot is an example of this approach and a very similar timepiece can be seen on pg. 63 of Le Temps de Cartier by J. Barracca, G. Negretti and F. Nencini. Both pieces present with 3 interspersed stones to the lugs, a triple row of stones to the bezel as well as a delicate mesh bracelet.
