Cartier. A Royal presentation brooch. The gold brooch with enamel G within the Royal Garter beneath the crown. Further enamel decoration. Signed Cartier London. 3.5cm wide. Fitted Cartier box. Accompanied with the following explanation of the presentation: This gold and enamel brooch was presented to Miss Olive Revill by the then Prince George Duke of Kent, sometime in the early 1930s. Miss Revill was a night nurse at the London Clinic when the Duke of Kent was admitted for reasons that were never disclosed. When Prince George was discharged, he presented Miss Revill with this brooch to show his gratitude. With a black and white image of a nurse, possibly Miss Olive Revill.
