CARROLL, LEWIS [=REV. C. L. DODGSON] Group of Scandinavian editions of Alice in Wonderland, in Dutch, Danish and Swedish , six works in seven volumes. Various places and dates, five signed by Alice Pleasance Hargreaves (nee Liddell). Generally very good copies. These copies, belonging to the original Alice, sold in the Sotheby's Lewis Carroll's Alice sale of June 9, 2001 as (with an erroneous count of signed copies). The titles include Alice's avonturen in het Wonderland, [1899], the first complete Dutch edition, signed by both Alice Pleasance Hargreaves and Maude Fooks (nee Standen), another of Lewis Carrol's child friends; Alice's avonturen in het Wonderland, undated, two wrappered volumes, both signed; Alives Aventyr I Underlandet, Helsingfors: 1921, a presentation copy from Caryl Hargreaves to his mother, also fully signed by her etc. (complete list available on request).
