Borg was a Swedish-born painter who settled in the United States and became well known for views of California, Arizona, and New Mexico. He was a member of the National Academy of Design, the National Academy of Arts, Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and the Salmagundi Club. His work is exhibited in numerous major public institutions including the Smithsonian. He visited Canyon de Chelly a number of times during his career and the works he made there are some of his best and the most sought after.
