Provenance: Property of Descendants of Union Army Capt. Spencer W. Richardson, Boston, Massachusetts Condition: Metal has tarnished to a grey with some dark staining and light pitting. Knuckle bow has a nice untouched patina. Scabbard still retains some of the original silver plating. Coat with some very light mothing; some light staining on sleeve; minute staining overall; some deterioration to sleeve; shoulder straps in excellent condition; overall very good to excellent. Painting has been restored and aggressively cleaned; some flaking along bottom margin; general surface grime. Crayon portrait with some toning. Pocket dictionary has significantly worn cover; front and back cover have detached from spine.
