CAMPBELL, Colin and others. Vitruvius Britannicus, or the British Architect, containing the Plans, Elevations, and Sections of the regular buildings, both publick and private, in Great Britain . London, [n.d.]-1767-71. 5 volumes, 2° (550 x 370mm). 5 engraved titles, 4 engraved dedications, titles and text in English and French, 390 engraved views plans and elevations after Campbell, Woolfe, Chambers, Gandon and others, 101 double-page or folding (some light spotting to volumes 4 and 5, title,dedication and first leaf of the introduction to volume 1 trimmed and mounted). Early 19th-century green half morocco, spines gilt (edges slightly rubbed), t.e.g. A fine copy of the later issue of the complete 5 volumes. Fowler 76 describes a similar copy, with no imprint on the first three volumes and with text in French and English throughout, in the John Work Garret Library. cf. Berlin Kat 2329.
