Winchester Model 70 "Super grade" pre-war style bolt action rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1939. Blued Winchester Proof Steel barrel with hooded ramp front sight and 22 G rear adjustable sight, Winchester address and caliber marking of "300 MAGNUM". Underside of barrel marked "300M" and dated "42". Black finished action with correct front bridge drilled with 2 holes and non-drilled rear bridge. Jeweled bolt (done later not by factory) with correct serial number "22307" electropenciled on bolt body with correct pre-war style safety. Walnut checkered low-comb correct Supergrade style stock with European cheekpiece, Winchester logo grip cap, and black forend cap with blued detachable floorplate and stock hardware. Stock has the sling loops but sling swivels are missing. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with 90% action finish and 90% varnish with some light handling marks. Missing both sling swivels with added jeweling on the bolt. Bolt has some handling wear with rifle having some light scratches and dings. Good bore and mechanics.
