Winchester Model 61 slide action rifle. Standard takedown model, made 1936. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Matching serials on the trigger group and frame. Left side of the barrel is marked "-WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 61-WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK-.22 S.L.OR L.R.-". Round steel barrel with blade front sight and u-notch rear sight. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Non-grooved, non-drilled receiver. Oil finished wood stock with a ribbed forearm. Checkered metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with a few handling marks and scratches. Wood has a few dings and scratches. Clean bore with very good rifling. Mechanically fine.
