This was an updated version of the Model 1896 that closely resembles the Model 1911. Changes include new barrel and sight, and inlet pistol grip into the straight 1896 stock. Modifications took place between 1911 and 1920. Magazine is stamped "2749". Swiss cross is stamped on most of the metal parts. The rubber bolt pull is intact. Walnut stock is excellent. Receiver retains about 75% original blue. 75% blue mixed with patina on frame. Bands and barrel retain 80%. Has original muzzle cover. Floorplate and magazine are basically brown patina. Has a period sling. Stock is excellent. Action and bore are fine.
