Lot consists of: (A) No. 4 MK I* rifle manufactured by Savage. Left side of receiver is marked with a flaming ordnance bomb followed by "S No. 4 MK I*", with "U.S. PROPERTY" on the top. Left side of receiver socket is marked with the serial number above "B". British crown over "BNP" nitro proof above chamber. Buttplate is comprised of zinc alloy and does not retain its butt trap cleaning kit. MK II rear sight graduated for 300-600 yards. No matching numbers. B.D.L. LTD import stamp under barrel at muzzle. Trigger guard, bolt, barrel bands, and front sight have been arsenal refurbished and are finished in black enamel. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their arsenal applied and arsenal reapplied finishes, showing wear and thinning all around. Good bore with well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock is good, showing numerous small dings and handling marks as well as two repairs on the buttstock. (B) SHTLE MK III* manufactured by Enfield in 1919. Right side of receiver socket is marked with a crown over "GR/ 1919/ SHTLE/ III*" above an electro-penciled "FTR" rebuild marking. Matching numbers are force matched and include the receiver, bolt, rear sight, nosecap, and stock. Magazine cut-off is present. Complete with khaki 1943 dated canvas sling. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, showing scattered areas of wear. Mirror bore with strong and well-defined rifling throughout.
