Beschreibung:

Designed by August Schuler and manufactured at his factory as well as licensed at and produced at other factories, the Schuler Reform pistol is extremely unique and innovative in design. The barrel also doubles as a magazine, featuring notches on the rear that which, when engaged by the hammer, lifts the barrel/magazine block up. When the subsequent round in fired, the gas is ported in the above barrel, ejecting the round, which is deflected off the hammer. The left side of the barrel is stamped "BREVETE/ D.R.P./ 177023" above an Imperial German eagle. Left side of barrels and frame bear horizontal crown over "N" nitro proofs. Matching numbers are present on the frame and bottom of the barrels. Frame is mounted with nonoriginal 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. CONDITION: Metal components show heavy wear to the blue finish, exhibiting a a mostly gray patina on the frame, barrel, grip straps, and trigger guard, with protected areas retain good amounts of original bluing. Bores are bright, exhibiting varying degrees of oxidation and retaining fair rifling. Grips are crudely fit, showing areas of heavy sanding, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very unique and interesting German Pre-World War I pistol design.
